Northwood Animal Hospital and The Animal Hospital and Pet Resort at Southwood invite you to participate in the American Cancer Society’s 2010 Relay for Life at the Leon County Fairgrounds. As we celebrate the 26th year for this event, we celebrate the human-animal bond and honor our furry and feathered family members who have gone through the hardship of dealing with cancer.
This is our second year as a team to walk in honor of past, present and future cancer patients. Last year we raised over $4,000 to aid in the fight against cancer. Our theme this year is “Make Cancer Extinct”. We will have a tent set up at the event with refreshments and fun dinosaur activities for the children. The team members are not required to stay the entire night if they are unable.
The relay begins at 6PM on Friday, May 21 and runs all night until Saturday, May 22 at 10AM.
We would love to have you join us in this celebration.
If you would like to contribute financially, you may make monetary donations to help with research that benefits both human and animal cancer patients. Donations may be made at our hospitals or you may donate through the PayPal account link. The team is also selling raffle tickets to win lots of great prizes. Tickets are $2 each, or 6 tickets for $10. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.
We at Northwood Animal Hospital and The Animal Hospital and Pet Resort at Southwood, think it is important to recognize that both our two-legged and four-legged family members may be diagnosed with cancer. We are celebrating the human-animal bond that is perhaps never more apparent than when a family finds out a loved pet has cancer. Fortunately, the American Cancer Society’s research helps both humans and animals who are living with cancer.
