Good Samaritan Program

The Good Samaritan (Good Sam) Program at Northwood Animal Hospital is one of the programs we are most proud of. Being a 24 hour veterinary facility, we often have people from the community bring in sick, injured, abandoned, or simply lost pets. We call these people “Good Samaritans.” If an owner can’t be found, Northwood Animal Hospital will keep a limited number of these pets to rehabilitate and eventually adopt out to loving homes. In the year 2008 alone we found homes for over 150 pets. We focus our attention on animals that the shelter can’t help. As such, we tend to keep the sick or injured ones that require more extensive medical or surgical care than what other rescue groups can supply. Proceeds from the adoption fees go back into our Good Sam fund to help future pets. If you would like to help us with this worthy cause, please contact us about adopting, fostering, or donating to the Good Sam fund. See a list of the pets currently available for adoption through our clinic at Petfinders.com-Northwood Animal Hospital.
